Growing up, I was always fascinated by the stories behind the music I loved. I often spent my adolescence watching “Behind the Scenes” videos, reading blog-posts and engaging directly with the artists themselves through social media. As I grew older I understood that there is a strong link between Music and Commerce. For example, I noticed how artists leverage their brand and fan engagement to drive album sales, merchandise, and concert tickets. In fact, I wrote an entire high school paper based on this which was inspired by the art of blending music and commerce. As I grew older, my interest expanded into understanding how these engagement tactics blend with business and commerce to create powerful synergies in the music industry.

With a background in Finance and Economics from the University of Toronto, I've had the opportunity to work with wonderful professors and people who crave to understand the intricacies that exist between commerce and the complex music inustry. These experiences have given me a unique perspective on how business principles and economic trends shape the music world and beyond. During my first two years roaming around the streets of Toronto, I saw firsthand how economic policies impacted the way artists and companies operate. This intersection of business and creativity sparked a passion that has only grown over the years. Now, I want to share these insights with you through Five Seconds Flat.

Beyond my professional life, I'm always eager to learn more. That is another reason why I decided to launch Five Seconds Flat. All my life, I wanted my opinions to be heard and read, but I always shied away because, to be honest I have thought of myself as a perfectionist and so the creation of Five Seconds Flat marks a pivotal moment where I have decided to shed the constraints of perfectionism and embrace the courage to voice my opinions boldly. I plan to launch a newsletter by the end of summer too if all else goes well. Given the considerable time I have this summer, developing another skill-set has seemed very inviting.

To conclude, I am not a writer by any means. My early years of high school consisted of me writing mini poems and short stories which nobody ever heard or read. However, living independently for two years has taught me that my opinions and attitude matter, they shape the person I am and the people I interact with everyday. While I cannot force an opinion on anyone, a new perspective is always handy.

I look forward to seeing you in the next blog post!
